The Paleopolis located south of Batsi within 6.1 km on the road to town. It was the old capital of Andros.

It is a village built on the slopes of Mount Petalo. At the highest point are the only waterfalls in the Cyclades.

In the village there is a restaurant, cafe and small museum with finds of excavations, open every Wednesday. Here was the ancient town of Andros, which flourished from classical times until the Roman period. Due to the historical tradition of the site is full of archeological finds kept in Paleopolis archaeological collection and the archaeological museum Andros.

The ancient city was built near the sea. Now is sunken below it.

There is a road that descends to the lowest point of the village and from there go to the beach path. There are also steps that start from the roads leading to the sea.
