The Modern Art Museum is an excellent foundation donated by Vasilis and
Eliza Goulandri.
Established in 1979 as a non-profit making orgnization for people benefit
whose main aim is to promote the visual arts and presents, the major figures
of modern and contemporary art to the Greek public.
The Modern Art MuseumIt is situated in Hora and consists of two wings.
The older one hosts two abiding collections which are exhibited in a 200
square meters space: sculpures of wellknown Greek Artists, such as Tombros,
Takis, Giannis Pappas, also pieces of art of Tsarouhis, Moralis, Basileiou,
Fasianos.
The new wing every year, since the last week of June till the end of September,
hosts pieces of art of famous modern artists. Here, the characteristic work
of art of Picasso, Kandinsky, Giacometti, De Chirico, Rodin,
Richier, Cesar, Decas, Paul Klee, Monet, Van Gogh, Henry Moore, Miro has
been exhibited.

This summer, the exhibition hosted a big number of Picasso's works and focuses
on their connection with Greece souns during the CULTURAL OLYMPIAD in Greece.
Visit the island of Andros this summer, sometime between June 27 and September
26.
Exhibition in 2003
This summer, pieces of art of the sculptor and painter from France, George
Braque (1882-1963), were exhibited in the Modern Art Museum.
Exhibition in 2002
Last summer the work of art of the sculptor and painter from Spain, Joan
Miro (Joan Miro 1893-1983) was on display.
