Biotopes in Andros

 

Vori beach:

On your way to this beach you will see a small biotope with a rill which reaches up to the sea.

Ahla beach: It is found at the north side of Andros town. Here you will find a small but impressive biotope, with a rill and platans that lead near to the sea.

In order you to go to the beach, you pass from the village Vourkoti , you turn right in a downhill dirt-road that will lead you straight to the beach from a beautiful way of 8 kilometres.

 

Dipotamata:

The region Dipotamata is an infrequent ecological protected biotope and characterized of particular natural beauty. Also it is classified by the EEC as "oikomouseio". It is a valley full with splendid buildings, bridges,cobbled trails and 22 watermills. In order you to pass from the region, you'd better organise a walk. You can start from the gorge between the villages Kohylou and Exo Vori, which are found in north bight of Korthi village and you will be led to the beach of Syneti. After walking through Dipotamata valley you will walk in a paved path just by the gorge with the stream. You will see the watermills, some in good condition, others devastated. At one time they constituted the most important means of exploitation of the force of water in Cyclades. In the ecosystem of Dipotamata beautiful batterflies of gender panaxia live.
